Creating an API Key

Let your own software drive ClearTalk directly.

Let your own software drive ClearTalk directly.

Steps

API access

If you want your own software to start calls or read results, it needs a key. That's what this section is for.

The API section

Open API access. Every key you've issued is listed here, with when it was created and when it was last used.

Making one

Generate key creates a new one. Name it after whatever's going to use it, so you know which is which later.

Copy it now

This is the important bit: the key is shown exactly once. Copy it somewhere safe straight away, because you can't come back for it.

Knowing what's live

The last-used date tells you which keys are actually doing something. A key that's never been used is usually one you can remove.

Turning one off

Revoking a key cuts access immediately and can't be undone — so if one leaks, revoke it first and worry about the fallout after.
