Giving Agents Tools and Knowledge
Let an agent look things up and take action during a conversation.

Steps
Two ways to make an agent useful
On its own an agent can only talk. Tools let it do things during a call, and a knowledge base lets it answer from your own material.
The settings panel
The panel beside the form holds everything that's optional — tools, knowledge, transfers, pronunciation, and a test call.
Actions it can take
A tool is an action the agent can trigger mid-conversation — check availability, look up an order, or send something to your own system.
Attach what it needs
Attach only the tools this agent actually needs. Fewer, clearer tools make the agent more reliable about when to use them.
Check what's wired
The review step lists exactly what this agent will be able to do before you close the picker.
Back to the form
Close it. Like every other panel, the choice saves when you save the agent.
What it knows
A knowledge base is the material the agent answers from — your pricing, your policies, your FAQs. Attach one and it stops guessing.
Attach a knowledge base
Pick one or more. You build these once on the Knowledge base page and reuse them across every agent.
Save with the agent
Close the picker and save the agent. It now has both the actions it can take and the facts it can answer from.
